Those first weeks home with a newborn are magical—and exhausting. A night nurse is there so you don’t have to do it all on your own.
A night nurse is a highly experienced, non-medical newborn care professional who joins your family once your baby comes home from the hospital. Your night nurse focuses on one thing: supporting your baby (and you) through those early weeks or months so everyone can rest, recover, and gain confidence. Most families hire a night nurse anywhere from a few weeks to several months, depending on their needs.
A night nurse typically works overnight shifts (10–12 hours), allowing parents—especially new moms—to get some uninterrupted sleep. Night nurses can also work multiple nights per week or up to six nights weekly, always with at least one night off.
Every night nurse we place has hands-on newborn experience, often spanning years or even decades. Many night nurses hold certifications such as HHA, CNA, or LPN, are Infant CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to become certified), and are up to date on vaccines including Tdap, flu, and COVID. If you have specific preferences or requirements, we tailor the match to your family.
Above all, your night nurse is calm, loving, attentive, and deeply knowledgeable about newborn care.

What Your Night Nurse Can Do

- Support breastfeeding moms with gentle lactation guidance if requested
- Prepare and clean bottles and pump parts
